Rod Sims Dialogue | Tenfold Australia
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Chair, Rod Sims, joins us to outline the ACCC’s current priorities and discuss the role of the Commission in shaping business behaviour as Government stimulus winds down. The Commission’s primary responsibility is to ensure that individuals and businesses comply with Australian competition, fair trading, and consumer protection laws - in particular the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. Given the disruption the economy has endured over the last 12 months and the forecasted uneven pace of recovery, it can be anticipated that the Commission will be involved in an even more diverse range of activities.

Lindsay McGregor Masterclass | Tenfold Australia
'Building Team Motivation and Performance in a Hybrid World of Work' Understanding how to motivate yourself can be hard enough but when leading teams, companies and/or communities the challenge of doing so can seem beyond the best of us. The new hybrid world of work with far less physical and informal interaction has made that even more difficult. How do you keep and/or build team motivation remotely is a big question on all managers' minds as the flexibility to work from elsewhere required due to the pandemic becomes the new norm. Joining us to unpack their worldwide research on the topic of 'total motivation' is Lindsay McGregor, co-author of NYTimes & WSJ best seller Primed to Perform and the co-founder of human motivation company Vega Factor globally HQ'd in New York. Lindsay has been featured in Time Magazine, HBR, Fast Company, Psychology Today and numerous other journals. During this Tenfold Masterclass with Lindsay we will explore how team motivation can be easily measured and effectively developed in any working context, resulting in higher levels of engagement and performance. She will also explain how many organisations have got this wrong in 2020 as revealed in a recent HBR article showing that employees working remotely are less motivated and those with no choice about are the least motivated of all.
Tenfold Masterclass with Netflix maven Patty McCord on 15 December 2020
Freedom and Responsibility. Not two words you typically see together and certainly not how many companies would describe their culture. But that is exactly how Patty McCord described the culture she co-created with Reid Hastings at Netflix from 1998 to 2012. Fast forward to 2020 Netflix is now more valuable than Disney at over $210B USD Netflix. In 2020 alone the share price has grown by 50% and Netflix is now responsible for 15% of all internet traffic. There are many reasons for Netflix' phenomenal success. Few would argue that underpinning them all is it's culture. Not for the faint hearted Netflix is unashamedly all about high performance. "We are a team, not a family. We're like a pro sports team, not a kid's recreational team" Netflix's famous culture deck states. "Adequate performance gets a generous severance package" the deck goes on to say. Tenfold Australia is thrilled to have Patty McCord, former Chief Talent Officer at Netflix, join our 15 December 2020 Masterclass to decode Netflix's culture and explore what all companies beyond the valley and beyond tech can learn and do differently to achieve sustained tenfold performance levels like Netflix. Come prepared to be challenged and potentially chuck out much of what you have always been told about best in class people practices.
Tenfold Briefing with Jason Pellegrino
Jason Pellegrino currently leads the multibillion dollar ASX listed online real estate group Domain, which is 60% owned by Nine Entertainment. Prior to that however Jason had a long career working for multinationals such as KPMG, PepsiCo, LEK Consulting and then Google for 9 years where he ultimately became the MD for Australia & New Zealand. During this discussion with Jason he will unpack his leadership lessons from Google and how that prepared him to 'go local' to run Domain. Such a transition from multinational subsidiary to ASX CEO is aspirational for many but rarely achieved. We will explore the advantages and challenges of moving to the ASX from a subsidiary operation. More broadly Jason will also share how he has responded to the pandemic induced market challenges of 2020 and what his very informed outlook for 2021 is.
Tenfold Masterclass with Harvard Professor Amy Edmondson - 23 July 2020
High performance and finding new growth were topics du jour for all business leaders at the start of 2020 until COVID19 changed the rhetoric dramatically. Given Australia's emergence from the pandemic ahead of most developed economies we need to start shifting the dialogue back to where growth will come from and how to create thriving and innovative workplaces again. For over 20 years Novartis Professor of Leadership and Management at the Harvard Business School Amy Edmondson has been researching what high performing teams from around the world across multiple industries do differently. The number one success variable based on the teams she and others such as Google have studied is what Amy calls 'psychological safety', i.e. creating an environment where people feel safe to take interpersonal risk. Tenfold Australia are pleased to have Professor Edmondson join us for this interactive online discussion designed for senior leadership teams to attend together. We will discuss why psychological safety is so critical to high performance, innovation and growth, and how leaders can promote psychological safety in their workplaces whether your people are in the office or working remotely.
