AMF Walking Challenge 2021
Aminata Maternal Foundation
Every step you take brings us one step closer to safe births in Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone is one of the most dangerous places to give birth in the world, with a lifetime risk of maternal death of 1 in 17 while in Australia it's 1 in 8,700.
Sierra Leone has a critical shortage of maternal health professionals with less than 800 midwives and 10 obstetricians in a country of 7.8 million people.
11,000 newborns die each year from preventable birthing complications
Come join us this 1st to the 22nd of November by walking 5.95km per day in three weeks for a total of 125km, which is the distance that girls like Zainab would have to walk to get to Aberdeen Women's Centre.
Event Volunteering Opportunities
From event support, cheer zones to collection opportunities, Cure Cancer are always on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to support our events. These include Fitness events, Barbeque events and Gaming events across the country. All current opportunities can be found on their website
Afghan Women Support - Keeping Them Safe And Connected
SmartAID launches an Emergency Appeal for Afghanistan, following the dramatic shift in power that is unfolding across the country, including the capital, Kabul.
SmartAID Emergency Appeal for Afghanistan will work and support emergency efforts of local partners and aid groups to #StayAndDeliver relief to millions of people in need.
SmartAID’s top priority is to ensure the safety and security of vulnerable populations, including women and children.
As people attempt to flee from danger, SmartAID funds will provide urgently needed telecoms and solar-powered energy to the growing population of internally displaced in need of protection.
SmartAID calls upon world leaders to commit to the protection of civilians and support humanitarian efforts.
